FAQ

Follow these tips to get the most out of the Gestoos App.

If you have a question that is not answered below, or simply would like to tell us more about your experience with the Gestoos App leave us your feedback here:

Check for the following, ideally while you are in the ‘Test your set-up’ screen which you will see during the first time set-up and under ‘Learn’:

1. The depth sensor camera is plugged in directly to the computer with the Gestoos App.
2. There is no object between you and the sensor obstructing the view, such as eh…your monitor.
3. You are either sitting or standing at least 1 meter (and no more than 2,5 meters) away from the depth sensor.
4. The depth sensor is pointing at you and you can see both your hands (two green dots) as well as your upper body in the camera stream in ‘Test your set-up’.

1. When practising gestures in the tutorial you will see a small image pop up which shows the gesture that you just did.
2. When using an application such as Spotify or Acrobat, try exit the full screen mode to be able to see the gesture feedback on your screen.
Remember that your chosen application must always be in focus.

Sometimes reflections can cause problems with depth sensors. Check that there is no glass, window or direct light on the sensor affecting your set-up.

Try to perform the gesture closer to your upper body, in relation to your chest, as shown in the photograph in the tutorial. Sometimes you might need to adjust the distance between the two hands, but it is only a matter of a bit of practice. Think that the depth camera needs to ‘see’ your two hands as a whole in this position, not just a part.

3. If sometimes you feel a gesture doesn’t work for you, move a bit closer to the sensor or further away from it and try the gesture again.

Make sure that the App which you have selected in the Gestoos App, e.g. Acrobat is the same as the one you have currently open and in focus on your computer.
